profusely sweating AFTER exercise

I have been a regular runner for the past 3 or so years, and I have a question that's been bugging me. I tried searching but I got a whole bunch of stuff that I don't care about.

Why do I sweat more after my run has stopped? This happens to me after weight lifting as well, but much more so after cardio.

Today was excessivly more noticable because I did my HIIT on a near 90 degree day with humidity. This is not a complaint, I like to sweat, and I hydrate constantly, but why oh why does it pour in after I have stopped?

My guess is that while I'm running the sweat is evaporating, therefore cooling me down, like it's supposed to. Then after my run is over my heart rate is still accelerated and my body is hot and continues to produce sweat. Since I am no longer running the sweat doesn't evaporate as rapidly, and builds up on my skin.

If I'm a magnificant guesser let me know, and if I sounded foolish please enlighten me. Thanks guys! (and gals!)

I get this as well, Im not 100% sure on what causes it, I have found that the trick is to take your time cooling down, walk for a little before hitting the shower dont get dressed to fast just chuck on the boxers or whatever and chill out for a moment drink some water dry off well etc.

I dont really get it that bad but I know that is can be annoying.

this always happens to me, and i dont really think its a problem is just your body cooling down. like i generally dont notice or feel a lot of sweat if i am running, unless the weather itself is really hot, but afterwards when i am walking back home, the sweat pours out. so yeah, not really a problem, just your bodys' cooling mechanism working:)

I got the same problem. It doesn't matter what I'm doing too. I sweat quite easily, even when others don't. I'm not sure if it's because I'm overweight, or what.

I could be doing anything, for example running, and I'm not sweating that badly. But when I stop, I could be sweating profusely for quite some time. I noticed if I start breathing through my mouth, then out my nose while stretching or walking it off, I could cool down somewhat quicker. Maybe you should try that.
