Just a little about my self:

49 year old male currently weight is 17.4 stones ( 111kg) height is 6'1"( 186cm)
I have been trying to lose weight for about 5 years with no result

Until I was 40 years old I used to weigh between 12 to 12.3 stones, I was a competitive runner, soccer player and Cricket ( a game played in Australia)
I used to run over 60 mile per week some week 90 miles. I have raced on 2 marathons about 60 half marathons and many 10km runs ( 6 miles)

due to work and life I stopped all sport cold turkey and within 18 month put on 5 stones

November 2013 I decided to train for a half a marathon fun run ( 13 miles) and I trained for 8 month straight running 30 mile per week, finished the race and during that time I have did not lose any weigh.

for the past 14 month I have been running 4 days a week ( 6 miles per run) and I swim 1 morning a week ( helf a mile) and have not lost a single ounce.

I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't eat junk food, I don't eat sweets. I am from Italian Background so I do eat paste ( carbo)

I am at a loss on what to do?

please help

Inter, loosing weight is far more about diet than exercise, are you tracking how much you eat ? you can eat to much of healthy food and still gain weight.

Hi, I do watch what I eat but I don't calorie count?

I have tried to do so, but it is hard to calorie count cooked foods???? or am I wrong. Surely exercising with intensity 5 to 6 hours a week should burn up a fair amount of calories

Exercise burns a lot less than most people think

30-minute run at 9.6 kmph (10 minutes per 1.6km): 270 calories burned which is equivalent to eating roughly 200 grams of grilled fish or 150 grams of chicken breast without skin or a little over a cup of cooked pasta (no sauce)

What are your portion sizes like ? also any sauces you may have on your pasta can be very calorie dense.

Your percentages for macros should probably look something like this - 50% carbs, 30% protein and 20% good fat to build muscle and lower carbs if you want to lose weight. I'm a bodybuilder and when it comes to building and leaning down it is all about diet. Pasta is very high in carbs as you know and simple carbs to boot. Maybe substituting pasta with something like quinoa or brown rice will already be different. You can also keep track of calories by using one of the great apps on smart phones. I use myfitnesspal. It is definitely possible to calorie count with cooked food etc. on these kinds of apps. You might have to start measuring your food amounts so you can be more accurate as you ad food to your log. I hope this helps some.
