Problems with protein

Hi guys,

Im having some problems with my weight gaoin at the mo

I have recently lost approx 1st 10lbs and got rid of my fat layer, however now im looking to bulk back up in muscle (not fat) and get a more bulky muscly shape. I currently take milk & egg protein half an hour before i work out (every tuesday, wednesday, thursday and sunday). but i have been looking at other protein shakes on the market. In the main a brand called maximuscle but im lost???? There is one called promax which is just a protein shake and one is called cyclone which has whey protein, creatine and glutamine????? Which should i be going for???? HELP!

Also should i be taking it every day or just the days i work out?

Thanks

Alex

There are a lot of threads already on protein, and brands. I like ON (Optimum Nutrition), along with NitroTech (I get it for cheap, if you can't, it's way to expensive), and many others.. And go with one that is just protein, no creatine.. The only reason you would even need a protein shake, is when you can't get enough protein from your diet. Then you should SUPPLEMENT you diet with a shake. So there is no set time or amount for you to take.. If you're supposed to get 150g of protein in a day, and you've only got 110 for a day, then you would need two 20g skakes...

Have you changed your workout program? If so, what was it and what has it changed to?

You've managed to lose weight with a particular diet and routine. sounds like a successful plan. You won't want to make dramatic dietary changes in an attempt to gain weight or you may gain it back in a way you don't want it.

thanks for that.

I basically do all my training from home. I use rowing on the rower for 20mins each week, better diet i.e. less fat, more protein less carbs and then i used dumbells and free weights both dumbells and bench bar. i have got a small bench but it is fixed flat so cant to incline much etc.
