As a personal trainer and nutritionist with over 9 years or experience, I’ve noticed an incredible shift in the weight loss industry in regards to calorie counters like myfitnesspal, calorie king, caloriecount, etc. I am proud to say that IT IS WORKING! More people are being conscious on their caloric intake and taking initial steps to take better control of their weight loss. Although it is working, but we are still making bad choices when it comes to food choices.
Just the other day I was at Dunkin Donuts to get coffee and the guy standing in line in front of me was trying to log in 3 glazed donuts into his myfitnesspal app! That is about a whopping 780 Calories!! Seriously, his DD order covered more than half of his daily caloric intake limit. By lunch time he would already be at his caloric limit and would have to starve himself for the rest of the day to not go over his caloric limit. I believe that there should be more education on food choices when it comes to calorie counting.
Yesterday did a research on calorie counters and found out that they all do exactly the same thing which is counting calories. However I found one site that actually got it right. actually generates the right meal plan and selects healthy food choices for you. The only thing about it is you would have to know your weight and body fat % which shouldn’t be a problem because you can easily buy scales and body fat analyzer devices at Walmart for under $20.
