Probiotics - L. Acidophilus

I just wanted to share something that has helped me. I've had problems with abdominal distension/bloating for a long time. I just started taking a supplement for digestive health - Lactobacillus Acidophilus, more commonly known as L. Acidophilus, or just Acidophilus. It's a probiotic that recolonizes the flora in your intestines. After just one day, I noticed significantly less bloating. I've been taking it for about 3 days now, and I can really see a difference. Normally I would wake up with a flat tummy, but by the end of the day, I could barely button my jeans. My stomach was always puffed out and uncomfortable. Since the day I started taking this, my stomach remains fairly flat all day long. I'm not saying it will work for EVERYONE, but it has really helped me. It's worth a shot, and it can't hurt trying! :)

This will also helo with your bacterial vaginosis. I mean, if you have it.. ;) lol

Probiotics are good, you just need to be careful with the blend. Most of the bacteria are meant for lower GI, but are in cheap capsule form and never make it there. This could cause transient flora in places it doesn't belong (rare, but it happens)

^^Just a general statement NeuroRN, L.Acidophilus is great IMO.

Yogurt and kefir typically have Lactobacillus Acidophilus and other live bacteria (but make sure that they are live culture).

But choose plain yogurt or kefir over the sugary flavored varieties. The latter are an example of how a good food gets turned into a high calorie not so good food.
