You should eat before you work out. How long to wait after a meal is a pretty individual thing and you're pretty much just gonna have to try and see how it goes. I wouldn't try to do it right after, though.. maybe wait 30-60 min at least. The standard recommendation is to wait like 3 hours, which, IMO, is BS. You'd get hungry while training which is never a good thing.

Eventually you'll get used to training on a full stomach, and you'll be able to eat then virtually get straight into training. That is the ideal situation, I think, as you always have nutrients on hand.

I think it varies depending on what you eat. If its something quite small I eat within 20 minutes of starting a workout. I prefer to wait an hour as I tend to eat in bulk, but if I feel weak or hungry I eat a banana or yogurt and then workout about 10 mins later.
I know I will get very hungry about 3 hours after a workout whatever I eat beforehand so I tend to keep things light beforehand and then eat normally afterwards.

I also think it depends on your digestion, if you have a slow digestion or things feel sluggish then maybe you need longer to digest what your eating. Also what you eat matters too, when you eat your brain sends blood to your stomach to digest things, if your trying to workout without your body working to its best ability as its digesting food then you lose out. But if your eating basic foods which are easy to digest or small in portion you'd probably be OK with minimal digestion and minimal disturbance.

I train in the morning so I don't eat anything before a workout. And after the workout, I am pretty good.
