Practical weight loss

Hi everyone I'm new to this forum and looking for some encouragement and advice. I live in Ontario Canada and I am eligiable to do a weight loss clinic Dr poon. Which is a low card diet or lifestyle change.
Actually I have done it before and I had lost 50 pounds in 3 months, that is with a bit of cheatIng. Sadly I have gained the weight back plus (which is by no fault but my own)
Now I need to lose 86 pounds I wanna lose the first 50 to 60 pounds in 3 to 4 months and the last 30 to 40 pounds in the 3 months following that.

My questions are: is this practical? And should i incorporate weight lifting into my excersises or just stick with cardio?

We normally consider that 1% per week is a healthy rate of weight loss... There have been many instances on this forum of people losing the 12 to 15 pounds per month that you would like to lose - but in part it depends on how heavy you are to start with... Weight loss often slows down as we approach our goal weight.

I suggest that you do not set yourself such targets involving a timeframe for losing the weight... It would be a shame if you set yourself up for feeling that for instance a loss of 50 to 60 pounds in six months was not a wonderful accomplishment. It would be wonderful - and you would feel dramatically healthier and should feel very proud if this happened.

Celebrate every pound lost.

Both cardio and strength training would benefit you.

Thank you I will try not to give myself a time limit and just focus on losing the weight
