What are your thoughts on these for someone wanting to loss fat and gain muscle mass and who is allready on a high protein diet (20 g shakes, fish, chicken)? I was thinking about eating 1/2 of one before lifting.
Are these like Gatoraid, taken only for preformance, or can they be a fat loss + muscle gain food?

I'd say...don't eat them.... loads of cards and sugar are not going to help you lose weight. Stick with your chicken, shakes, and so forth....ditch the power bar.

when the ppl i help out want to use a protein bar, i urge them to make their own.
