Sport Post workout drink

Sport Fitness
I just bought some Accelerade for my post workout. Then I read the label. 20 grams of SUGAR in one scoop?? That seems like it is going against everything that I eat during the day. What do you guys think?

Thats alot of sugar. If it was me I would avoide using that.
What else is in it?

protein and fast acting carbs are good PWO. When you train your muscles glycogen stores (chains of glucose) are used and drinking a PWO shake with carbs helps to restore that.

The sugar that I'm assuming they are referring to on the label is either Dextrose or Malto-Dex which, as Kark said above, is fine for PWO nutrition. My post WO drink consists of 40g of whey and 80g of Dextrose (corn sugar).

Let's see... it's the 4:1 ratio drink
1 gram Fat
21 carbs
20 sugar
5 protein
Contains: Sucrose. Whey protein, trehalose, citric acid, fructose, maltodextrin and some others...

fructose a very crappy sugar for PWO nutrition. You want malto dextrin, dextrose, or glucose.

Like LV, I just mix my own, so its tailored to MY body weight and needs.

if you drink milk, drink non-fat kind for pwo shake. The fat will hinder the quick absorbing factor of the whey protein.
