Post Pregnancy weight loss

,Hi everybody, I'm new to the boards:p and I'm looking for motivation and support, and somebody to share their journey with me.

I had a baby girl 4 1/2 months ago and I gained way too much with my pregnancy (about 80 lbs) I started at about 174 lbs and ended up at 255 lbs..I know, crazy uh:eek: but I retained a lot of water and was always swollen.

I have lost a total of 49 lbs so far but still have about 36 to go since I want to get to 170. I'm 5'7.

My biggest problem are: I'm hispanic and we eat lots of rice and beans and all that good stuff with lots of carbs and fat, also the fact that I have to cook for my husband who doesnt need to loose any weight and likes all the fattening foods, so it's been sooo hard to stay away from the bad food but I'm trying my best.

I hate it and find it very hard to count calories so I just try to eat veggies and whole wheat bread and I started using my treadmill again and I'm walking/runing 2 miles but I'm planing of increasing distance to 3 to 4 miles 5 days a week.

Any girls out there who have lost weight after baby that can help me get some motivation?:D

Are you still here?

Hi,
I'm in a similar spot and I'm happy to cheer you along. I'm impressed that you've lost 49 pounds so far. Great job!

Like you, focused on heating healthy foods like whole grains and veggies and I don't count calories. I have done a food journal from time to time and it really helps me check on whether I'm eating to much and/or unhealthy foods.

I'm also relying on exercising regularly to get me to where I want to be. I haven't lost any weight on the scale yet, and I've been changing my habits since early December, but my clothes are fitting a lot better. Good luck to you!

I would explain to your husband that you want to lose weight and thats its time for a diet makeover. Beans are a great source of fiber, but rice should be limited. Im Irish but Im not drinking beer everyday, ya know. Chicken, fish, lean beef should be in your meal plan for each and every meal.
