Pole Dancing, Striparobics, etc...

Has anyone tried these before? I really want to try some of these workouts, but feel a bit self conscious because of my size. However, every time I go shopping for DVDs and pass by Carmen Electra's DVD Workout line, I want to buy it... and I get periodic emails from a local company that teaches Pole Dancing classes that I want to sign up for, too.

I don't know what keeps making me hesitate, though. When I was thinner, I know I definitely felt like sensuality was a part of my personality (and I've been told that everyone could tell it too, in a good way), but now I only feel like I can be "sexy" with the lights out so that FH can't see my giant belly :(

I think the point I'm trying to get at, is, are these things as fun and empowering as they look? I know I've heard in lots of places that strippers have AMAZING bodies, and I really want that, for myself and for FH (thankfully he's pretty open-minded about these kinds of things, and finds them pretty hot)

Sounds like it would be fun, if one could get over being self-concious in their own house. I'm there with you, I don't feel very sexy at all when I look at myself. When I was thinner/younger, I always wore something to show off my curves. :)

Personally, I'd be waaay to self-concious to try smth like that, at least for now. :)

I came across Carman Electra Striptease awile back, here is a link.
I also found this Personally i dont trust the intrgrady of some of the poles that dont have a sturdy metal base. I could see it now, start to swing around the pole and it slides from the cealling and away I fly...

I say go for it! Have some sexy workouts! haha I've been wanting to get some of those too, you know, to learn some new moves. Sure can't hurt any.

The pole dancing sounds very interesting. If you really want to do it, I would just try it out. I used to think I was "too big" to do karate, but signed up anyway. I'm not as fast as the athletic gals yet, but I'm catching up quick. Let me know if it works out for you Beagle. I'm curious!

Yeah those are the DVDs I was talking about, thanks for the link :)

I've decided that when I get around 180lbs, give or take a couple, I'll get the DVDs to throw into my daily exercise routines, and then in the summer I'll do the classes if I'm still interested in them. :D

I'll let y'all know how it works out for me.

Hey Beagle.. how is the dvd working out for you then? Ive been wanting to perhaps buy one of these dvds... but would feel sooo silly doing it. lol

Hey,

My Husband bought me the first Carmen Electra video fro Christmas and I really enjoyed it. The thing is that once you do it a few times it doesn't seem to be that good of a workout anymore (There are 2 routines and they are about 2-3 mins each). This could be why it is a beginner tape but I want to see about the other tapes and see if it is a good workout. Let me know if anyone gets those other tapes and how they are.
