Hi everyone,

Well I have just completed Day 1 of my Cohens programme and have a great sense of acheivement but I have got to say...I am STARVING! Is this normal? I keep reading where everyone says that they dont feel hungry etc, how long does it take to get there?

I also wanted to say thank to everyone on this forum for your posts. It takes guts to be so open and honest about your battles and I (for one) have benefited from seeing your discussions. I probably would never have got off my lazy a$$ and paid the $680 if it wasnt for you inspirational ladies/men...now I have gotta do it!!!

Cheers,
Kim

Welcome Kimmy1

:) Hi and goodluck on making it through the first day. I"m into my 2nd week and yes the first 3 days are hard but you will get through.

Keep up your water intake I have a measuring jug and make sure I get at least 3 liters a day and I also chew my gum allowance inbetween.

Try reading back through the forum for tips on how other cohenites have managed.

All the best

Sam

Hi Kim, my mum and I have been on Cohen's since the 30th October and we have not been hungry at all, my advice to you is to drink as much water as you can, the bloated feeling passes after a couple of weeks and you actually start to feel thirsty. It does get easier once you get familiar with the food and portion sizes. You will probably find that for the first few days (or even the first week) that you feel really lethargic, hungry, and craving all the wrong things in all the wrong sizes! Its just a detox. My mum went through this stage badly, but i didnt...so i guess it depends on how hard a crash it is for you and your bod. You will stop getting hungry, i can guarantee it. Alot of the forum girls and guys arent hungry because we are into our programs by a few weeks (or months!) and as i said, we are used to it. It will get better, dont give up. How much do you have to lose? I have another 15 - 17kg, while my mum has just shy of 30kg to go. Good luck with Xmas lunches :p ! Remember its only one meal...and overrated at that. If you deviate, it will put you back a few days. Thats a few days that you will miss a slim you:p.

Thanks very much for your replies, I am happy to say I woke up feeling really good...still hungry but feeling great about sticking to it yesterday, so not really bothered about eating.
I about 31-34kgs to offload...About 20 years of eating and drinking bad things, cultivating habits I shouldnt and being lazy. I now have an 8 week old baby as well as a 3.5 year old and got very sick at the end of my last pregnancy with high blood pressure and complications from that. Sooo I decided enough is enough, I want to be around to see my little ones grow!
Once again thanks for your support last night, it really helped! :)

Hi Kimmy - I didn't get hungry even in the first week and sometimes I was even forgetting to eat. That is until the last week or so and I have been hungry all the time. I've got a feeling it is because i'm due for my period on Sunday. Or at least I hope that is why. So I was thinking maybe it has to do with your cycle. Does anyone else experienced hunger at certain times during their cycle?

Yes, I feel hungry either in the week before my period, or in the week of it,

I get sugar cravings

I dfon't get as hungry as I used to - really just in the hour before I can eat again. Before I couldn't imagine life without eating every single cracker and every single piece of fruit but now sometimes I don't eat any of these.

It's never easy but it gets easier, that's for sure.

Also, consider if any of the foods you are eating are triggering hunger. Sometimes apples can make you hungry. Chewing gum can also trigger hunger.

For me, it could be hormonal but probably not, I have just had a baby, so I dont think so. More likely my food choices...I was having mango and apple and always seemed hungry after that, but today not because I have been having pawpaw as my fruit. Thanks for the ideas:)
