Sport Please recommend me books on nutrition

Sport Fitness
Ok, I want to buy a book on nutrition. Not just one that tells you how to eat but more like one that tells you how your body responds to certain fats and sugars and things like that. Something that goes into all the basic details would be great. I really need to get the basics down. Only real books too please. I'm not interested in e-books because I don't want to print them out. Whatever books that are recommended I'm going to try and find on ebay. If the book goes into the basics of exercise that would be fine too. Thanks!

For education on fats, there is no better doctor or author than Udos Erasmus. His book is titled "Fats that Heal, Fats that Kill." After reading that book, you will know EVERYTHING you need to know about fats plus more.

For general knowledge of all the macronutrients and how they affect your body, I have never found a book explain better then Tom Venuto's, "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle." Unfortunately, it is an e-book. However, as a professional in the industry who has read countless books on the subject, I am telling you that it would be worth your time and aggravation to buy this book, print it out, and maybe even bind it for easy reading and to put on a shelf for reference.

I also like "Understanding Bodybuilding Nutrition & Training" by Chris Aceto. It is question and answer format and a very quick and easy read jammed back with good questions that you might not think to ask yourself.

okay lets get this out of the way, No I do not work for this company, here is a good Book though, musclenow.com the guy offers great help and the book has a good practicle plan so check it out

How do you become a senior member here? I thought it had something to do with number of posts....but I am guessing not now that I saw you only have a little over 100. Not calling you out, just curious. Do you have to know the mods?

Secondly, I am very surprised you brought up the MuscleNow program. Francesco Castano wrote this program years ago. He is practically my neighbor. I tried it right when it came out and must say it is a good routine to add to your arsenal for you serious lifters. However, he is not an excellent source for hardcore scientific info. He is just an average guy who found a routine that worked for him and packaged it in a way that is very nice. He also offers great help and lifetime support for his routine.

For any interested, just remember, there is no one right way to train so don't check out this product thinking it is the be all end all. However, again, it is worth a looksie.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with how long you've been a member more so than number of posts, I could be wrong though.

Your probably right about there not being tons of scientific backing on this program But.... It has worked for me. It gave me a foundation to start doing what I luv doing (bodybuilding) I don't follow the program to the extreme but I do value some concepts of the book.

Totally bro, like I said before.... for anyone who is serious about bodybuilding, this is just another routine to throw into the mix. I too, experienced gains following the musclenow program. Once they slowed, I was smart enough to change things up. Every once in a while I will go back to it for a change.
