Please Help!!!!

Hello,
I am also new to this whole thing of fitness and forums but I need the help.
I am a new wife which has led to my extreme amount of weight gain. Before I got married I was over weight but not as much as now, I have gaine 50 pounds since I have been married that was only a year ago. So straight to the point now.
I am not lazy i think I just got comfortable. On December 20th I fell and sprained both ankles come to find out(i went to the podiatrist for followup this week) I fractured my arch, and crack my heel bone in my left foot and tore my tendant in my right foot,. Soneedless to say I am miserable with two walking cast on.
I need to start doing something because I know my weight is not helping.
Heres my cureent stats:
cw 181
height 5'1
bmi 34%
Goals are anything lower right now.
When I tell people how much I weight they say no way but I feel it, and some lady the other day at the salon asked me was I expecting how embarrassing!!!!
My daughter asked me all the time why my stomache is so big I just tell I'm fat and working on it. She keeps me in line when I eat something I'm not suppose to she says mommy thats not healthy for you.
Children are brutaly honest sometimes.
After all that is said I need a strict diet and workout that I can do with no feet.
Please help, I am desperate!!!
Fitmommy is what I want to be.

I'm glad that you want to make a change in your lifestyle, do it for yourself and your daughter. Do some research on nutrition and if you haven't already join a gym or take your daughter to the park and walk for 30min or jog start slow.....I'm 5'3 143lbs and just started to work out again and I have to start off slow-at least thats what my trainer was telling me- It's really easy to get back into shape find things that interest you like hiking bike riding or even skating.....find music that motivates you to get jumping and moving, but mostly find out what your nutrition is like thats the main key and will help alot you need about 5-6 meals a day to keep your metabolism going.... Hope everything goes good.....and welcome to the forum :)

p.s I'm just giving my point of view these are the things I enjoy just explore and make this a lifestyle change ~~have fun~~

:) Kids are the best motivation, they are so honest! Congrats on making the decision to be healthy. It takes time for all of us, but you can do it!

5-1, 181? You're very overweight. Not to be harsh, but you probably already have too many people sugar coating the issue for you. That doesn't help at all. You got to get honest with yourself. It is imperative to your health that your get your weight down.

First thing you need to do is take inventory. Go through your cabinets/pantries and read the labels on the foods you eat. Keep a journal for a week and add up the amount of calories you ingest. Then reduce that number by 10% the next week, 20% the week after. Just a reduction in calories at your size will show you quick and noticeable results. Throw out all the garbage in your house and replace it with good, healthy foods. And no fast food. Not even chicken sandwiches or salads (the average McDonlad's salad has over 300 calories, the same as a double cheeseburger). When it comes to weight loss, willpower is an illusion. Willpower will not get you fit. You need a lifestyle change. I don't even need to see your pantry to know that at your weight you're not eating healthy. That's your first step. Keep a calorie journal. It will help you stay the course and keep you constantly aware of your daily caloric intake.

Once you drop 20 pounds or so from eating right, and let the good eating habits really take hold, then start working out. If not, you will almost surely fail. Healthy is a lifestyle. To improve your health you have to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Good luck, and get going! If you need any advice, support, whatever, I'm here for ya, and we're all behind you. You CAN do this.:D

thanks

I want to thank all who replied. Truth hurts sometimes but I will get it going my hardest part is I can only stand for so long because of my ankles. I will do the journal first then go from there.
Again Thanks

Don't let it hurt your feelings. The truth is what it is. Once you can openly accept it, you can change. The first step to resolving any issue is admitting that it is an issue. You're well on your way to a slimmer, (more importantly) healthier you. Congratulations, and good luck. We're all with you!

You need to start working with a professional so that your health is taken into account along with the weight loss.

That's what I did and the weight has been off for over a year.

Stop thinking about it and start doing!!

Hey Mommies!

Hey Mommies!
I'm with you! I gained a lot with my baby, but a lot of it has come off from having her and getting rid of the water weight. Weight Watchers has also helped me to get on the weight-loss wagon. I have an online weight loss diary, which you are welcome to check out!

Good luck!
