please help me develop a triggered workout plan

So I have been making some big life style changes recently and to go with that I would like to get into better shape (I am 5'6 and 270lb). I have come to realize that a standard schedule workout will not work for me because I will get lazy and quit doing it after a week or so. Thus what I want to do is develop a plan where I do a small amount of exercise for a few triggers. The two triggers I can think of that would work for me are when I start a new episode of anime, and when I toke up. I have tried looking for a routine which would work with these triggers but I can't find anything that has lots of short exercise. So what I want to do is about 5 minutes of stuff when I toke and about 2 minutes of stuff whenever I start a new episode of anime. I may increase the time in the future but at this point in time I want to form a habit. I live on the third floor so anything that involves running or jumping will not work, with that in mind what do you all recommend I do.

Thank you for your help and advise.

Use the stairs, then get back to us when you are serious.

You are to be congratulated for taking a first step towards fitness, but I would encourage you to step just a bit farther. It is going to be difficult to exercise in your apartment without running or jumping, unless you own a stationary bike. Why not just head outside and take a brisk, 30-minute walk? Then you're done for the day.

And I would be irresponsible if I did not encourage you to give up the toking. You already have at least one, and probably more, huge risk factors for chronic disease. Don't make it harder on yourself. :)

Hope this helps! MAKE IT HAPPEN! :-D

Thanks Joe. I'm being punchy today.

But really, take the stairs all the time and use them for a workout, walk the building in laps.

Or if there's a way you could spin on an exercise bike or walk on the treadmill WHILE you watch anime, that would likely make it less of a chore for you.

Harsh but fair I think. Sorry memy but you say you've made serious lifestyle changes recently but if your day consists of nothing but watching cartoons and getting stoned then you've got a very long way to go before you start to get healthy

And if you can't run or jump in your flat then why not get out of the flat and take a few brisk walks and get some clean air in your lungs. It might even be fun if you're already stoned

And what's the deal with your diet? I can imagine being a TV watching stoner has led to a fair bit of snacking so are you doing anything about that?

I reread his sentance 4 times to make sure it really said "toke"

Back to the OP - like one of the posters above said, do the stairs, walk around your building or the complex for 30 minutes 3 times a week. When I was first starting out (which I still am), my dr told me 30 to 45 minutes of a brisk walk 3 times a week would make a lot of difference. You won't look like a body builder, but I will be much more healthy.

a couple Little things I have heard (but not validated) are park as far as way from the grocery store as possible, rather then finding the closest spot to the store. Get a pedometer to track your steps so you can try to reach a goal of something like 10K a day.

Good luck in your journey.

I have tried a variety of different plans that had me doing something for 20-45 minutes 3-4 days a week and after about a week I get bored of it and quit. I have come to understand that it is just how I am. I work full time so smoking and anime is just what I do in my spare time which is why I need to associate then with exercise. So I am looking for a casual plan that has me doing 5 minutes of work 2-3 times a night and 2 minutes of work quite often. If you don't have any advice that fits this schedule then please just don't post.
