Please, don't eat the facial!

Ok.. so my skin was looking really dull one day. I didn't have the money to run out and buy some expensive facial in a jar. I so did what I always do in times of crisis... I googled it. :D

What I found was some great ideas for perking up your skin naturally with stuff you already have at home.

My favorite facial recipe:
1T. honey
1T. granulated sugar
1t. olive oil

2 warm, moist teabags

Mix the first 3 ingredients into a grainy paste and gently smooth over face in small circles to help open pores and exfoliate. Warm a wash cloth with some tap water, place teabags over eyes and lay the warm wash cloth over your face. Relax for about 3 to 5 minutes then gently wash off the mixture with warm water.

But don't throw away the teabags just yet!

Follow up you facial with a warm, moist teabag going over your whole face gently. Then rinse with warm water again. This has an astringent effect and will help sweep away the extra oil. Plus, the caffeine will help perk up your pores.

This mixture is great for dry/combination skin. But if you have very oily skin, try replacing 1/2 the sugar with regular table salt & reduce the oil to 1/2 t.

Also! Did you know that Olive Oil can take off your eye makeup?

Soak a cotton ball with olive oil and wipe over eye area to remove makeup. Remove excess olive oil with a warm, damp washcloth. Works great!!
