There are three basic categories that are included in crossfit workouts. These categories include
1. metabolic conditioning,
2. weightlifting, and
3. gymnastics.
It is important to include different elements of each category in your workouts.
Gymnastics includes exercises that promote flexibility and strength in the body using the body’s weight only. These include lunges, pull-ups, sit-ups, and handstand pushups. Weightlifting includes squats, presses, dead lifts and Olympic lifts. Metabolic conditioning includes cardiovascular training such as running and swimming.
