Hey everyone, I'm new to this site. I think its very resourceful and inspirational. Well I'm a college student, getting prepared for the whole nursing school entrance process. I don't think that my classes are too overwhelming well except Anat. and Phys. I feel like my school life revolves mainly around this one class, which I must excel at if I want to get into my desired school of nursing. Anyway, I joined here in the hopes of maybe organizing myself and start some kind of plan to lose weight. I currently weigh 160 lbs. and I'm 5'7 and would like to achieve a weight of 135-140lbs. At the beginning of summer I started running/walking 20 laps a day about 4-5 days per week at a track. I felt very energized and good about myself and I started noticing small changes in my abdomen which was really cool. I kept this up for about three weeks, I lost about 7 lbs. I was happy, but then I became very lazy and unmotivated and stopped excercising altogether. What a bummer. I don't know what happened.
Well now I would like to start over and this time keep it up. I just feel like my mind is all over the place and I feel stressed out, as if I don't have time to do much. But I can make the time if I just stop making excuses. I would like to start drinking much more water, I barely drink any and that's not good at all. I would also like to start weightlifting and walking/running again at least three times a week since I have weird class schedule. Perhaps I'll start a food diary although I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep up. I've started drinking Ultimate Woman multivitamins from the Vitamin Shoppe almost everyday lol. So let's see how things work out. I have a feeling this forum may help, hopefully. :eek:

Off to a good start

Thanx Skinny. :) Today was a good day. Well the weather was crappy but I didn't let that stop me from working out. I had my lab exam today. I think I did well overall, it was a little tricky however. I'm glad I got that out of the way, for now anyway because I have another test coming up in ten more days i think. And I have a project and paper due next week.Hope I can manage my time efficiently. Anyway, here's what I consumed today:
Breakfast
Honeynut cheerios 120
1/2 cup of skim milk 50
1 cup of jasmine tea w/1 tbsp honey about 70
1 multivitamin

Lunch
Subway turkey breast sandwich on wheat bread
with lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, american cheese 334
Baked BBQ chips 140
Sprite Zero

Dinner
White rice 200
Black eyed peas 100
Small portion of pork 180
16 oz water

Snack: cashew nuts 70
Total: 1264
I got the caloric values thanx to a cool site, lol.As for excercise I walked ten laps around the track and at home I did two reps ea. of 20 on the step, with two 5lb weights. Also did 1 rep. of 20 with ta 20lb pole on the step as well. Don't know the correct terms of the equipment or excercise. Well I hope to keep this up.
 
You did really awsome. But one thing... WATER WATER WATER. You need to drink half your weight in ounces everyday. Trust me, once you start drinking the right amount of water the pounds will fall off. Especially since you have everything else down. Way to go! I am going to try my a** off tomorrow to eat right and keep myself in check. Wish me luck. I started out at 166 and am stuck at 140-145, gotta lose another ten to fifteen pounds. That has been my goal since January. It is taking FOREVER. uqh.
 
Rainy day

So today was horrible outside. It rained heavily for practically the whole day, and it was sooo cold outside. It's still raining right now.Therefore I didn't walk at the track today. But I did manage to lift some weights and do some sit ups, and I horribly attempted to do some push ups, with some help lol.Anyway, tomorrow I have an interview so I hope I do well. And I hope to get some school work done since today, I only read a couple of pages from one of my texts. So here's what I had for today. I had some cookies. :eek:
Breakfast
1 serving of Chicken noodle soup 60
1 slice whole wheat bread 80
Lunch
1 1/2 hard boiled eggs 108 on wheat bread 180
with a slice of american cheese 70
Dinner
Beef stew 220
White rice 100
Sweet platains 180
Snack:polvorones(cookies) 170 with coffee and milk 40
And drank lots of water throughout the day.
 
wow, you did so good today that I am gonna really try tomorrow to stay away from the wrong things! And I wish I would have only had a couple of cookies as my downfall today! I hope things go well with your interview tomorrow!
 
good... I see you drank water throughout the day. Water is important to flush out your system and keep it working.... if you drink 32 oz of freezing cold water with in 30 min b4 each meal, you may lose weight even faster cause your body will be working harder with it,.... you will feel more full all day as well!

Thanx for the tip Christina. I have noticed that I have been feeling full for longer periods of time, since I have been incorporating water into my diet.Its very true. Well today was the day of my interview and I got the job so I'm very pleased. I'm going to be a full time student and work part time. I think that I should be able to handle it, we'll see. Today I was out for most of the day and didn't come home until late so I didn't excercise. But I did do alot of walking if that counts for anything. I must write my paper before the end of the weekend.

Skipped it(bad), was too busy,but surprisingly didn't get hungry until almost home

Yellow rice with beans in it
