pink patch

what is it supposed to do?

... waits for the next poster coming from he same ip address who will sing the virtues of the pink patch...

Google tells me
Wow! I was on Facebook today and saw an advertisement for this amazing little patch that’s supposed to make you lose weight and prevent ovarian cancer all at once! I found these claims dubious at best, but it would be great if you all could work your magic and let me know if there’s even a sliver of truth to them. I found it interesting that they would advertise on a site where lots of impressionable high school and college age girls with body image issues are likely to be active.

Well let's see - from all studies I've read from Cancer Organizations -losing weight dramatically reduces your chances of cancer... and the curreny vaccine they have for young women is supposed to do a fair job at preventing HPV which could lead to ovarian cancer.. I patch isn't going to do that..

I got myself the free 6 day trial pack (being careful to cancel the following month's supply they make you sign up for when ordering).

I've used it for 2 days, and I can honestly say that my cravings/urge to munch between meals has been reduced. But is it the patch, or is it purely psychological? I couldn't say either way, but then no one criticises a smoker that is trying to quit for wearing nicotine patches.

I did a lot of searching on Google to see what people said about the pink patch, and the one thing that came up repeatedly that really annoys me is when people say "just use willpower". Well if it was down to willpower alone people like me wouldn't need to diet in the first place.

I'll let you know how the patch works from my point of view, and I never undervalue the worth of psychological aides ;)

Oh, and I have purchased another 3 months supply of a very similar with the same ingredients for a fraction of the price from eBay. The official Pink Patch would have cost me £35.95 (a special price, just for me, apparently) for a month's supply, while I found 3 months' supply of this similar patch for £19.95. If it works, great, if it doesn't then £19.95 isn't going to break the bank.

Depending onhow much weight a person has to lose -and if that amount is more than 50 lbs (speaking from personal experience) willpower isn't needed.. Paying attention is...

What i find really irritating about the pink patch ad campain is that they're throwing cancer prevention into the mix.... and preying on people's fears of getting cancer...

I definately have more than 50lbs to lose, but so far I'm happy with how I'm doing, I've managed to fit into a pair of jeans that are 2 sizes lower than when I started (I was in UK 22, and yesterday I spent the whole day in size UK 18 without having to undo a button).

To be honest I hadn't actually noticed any cancer prevention in the campaign, but the only ads I'd seen was a tiny one on Facebook.

In fact, the only thing that really bothers me (so far) about the patch is that it's pink. I'm definately no girly girl, and pink is a colour I despise. Why couldn't they have made it clear, or purple?

But anyway, I'll let you know how I get on with it.

Right, I've now had the patch (or its cheaper equivalent) for a week now, and what do I think of it? Well my desire to eat has been greatly reduced. In fact there are times when I know I'm hungry by the rumbling in my tummy, and yet I have no inclination to eat. What I can't say is whether this is due to any actve ingredients in the patch, or whether its completely and utterly psychological, but either way the result is the same, so I give it a thumbs up. The only thing I would say is go for the cheaper version that can be found on eBay - you can 6 months' worth for the same price as one month on the Pink Patch.

Melanie.
