Pill form Creatine

Has anyone taken the buffered pill form creatine? Such as Purple-K? I took EAS Phosphagen a couple years ago and experienced good results but had two issues:

1. Stomach cramps
2. Hair loss

Will the buffered type creatine keep me from the two side effects above? Thanks MAC

That sounds like a brand as though I have never taken creatine, I know there are 3 types :-

- creatine monohydrate
- creatine phosphate
- creatine citrate

Its junk really. There's NO scientific studies done on stuff like Purple-k or Kre-alkalyn.

they are much more expensive than monohydrate or ethyl ester too, and both of those HAVE been properly studied and shown to be effective.

As for side effects:

1. hair loss is NOT a side effect of creatine.
2. stomach cramping might have been due to when you took the phosphagen, or because your hydration levels were too low.

my advice, get a small tube of creatine ethyl ester. should be like $20 or so for several hundred grams. take 3-5g a day, post workout, see if it bugs your stomach.

OK I purchased some CEE (Met-rx). The directions say take two pills on empty stomach 30mins before workout then two pills post workout. I really do not like to workout on empty stomach. Any issues with taking on partial full stomach prior to workout? Thanks

Not really, I've read before to take it with some sugar to help uptake, but I've also read that you should take it before, take it after, do both and that it doesn't matter. So looks like opnion is a bit divided. :)

I can promise it will bug your taste buds

I can hardly notice it. I mix with whey, milk, oats and choc nesquick for a shake on workout days or just stick in luke warm green tea on rest days and cant really tell.

Only way that doesn't seem very nice just by itself in a small amount of water.

Edit: Just realized that you were talking about CEE and I use mono.
