pilates before cardio and after weights for best results out of each. pilates sets your body up for the load and better rom in cardio and helps the repair process after weights.
if you do it the other way around, then your weight workout ends up being more about endurance. Pilates is still body weight exercise and still resistance. Anything after 6 reps and you've switched muscle fibre focus so youre no longer bulking. if you want smaller dense muscles.. and eat to cater for that, you may just be onto something.
There's also a toxicity factor.
It's during callesthenics ( like yoga and pilates) that you literally squeeze the toxins out of your body ..your organs and so on..then when we do a big cardio load, like over an hr for example, with the chemistry that goes on during that, we change our blood. ..ready to pee out the waste. when you do weights, your body produces more rubbish. ..like acids and so on that also have a somewhat effect.
May try it the other way and see the difference in how you feel.
