Guess Who

I don't understand why when someone posts a picture they smudge out their face?

I mean it's not like you are on a fetish forum where you don't want people to maybe recognize you.

Identity theft typically doesn't work that way either. I mean it's not like someone is going to look at your picture and then say AH HA!!! Now I know what he/she looks like I can steal everything they own and I now have their social security number.

Just curious as to why folks do this.

because they prefer to remain private im guessing.

Some photos are of them either seriously overweight, or near naked etc. They don't want to find these popping up at a later date to haunt them!
Imagine being a teacher at school and having your pupils say looking at near naked photos of you or photos of you seriously overweight and showing it being handed around the class

Makes some sense but why would you post near naked photos? Most of them I see they are fully clothed or are in bikinis.

Personally, I smudge out my face because I don't want to be recognized. Anyone, not just members, can see photo's posted....just trying to cover my ass.

Also because pictures get stolen for ridiculous weight loss ads. :ack2:
It's happened to quite a few people on here actually.

I would imagine I will block out my face when I start posting photos in case someone recognises me. I like anonymity. I don't want people I socialise with knowing that I am concerned with weight-loss and feeling insecure.

Many people are curious about matters such as loose skin - and you cannot really see that in a fully clothed photo. I am envious of the people who have the confidence to allow such photos to be taken and shared within the community. They contribute a major service to other members - which is in no way reduced if their faces are blanked out.

Not everyone feels that they look stunning in a bikini - even after they finish their project. This can be simply a confidence issue - or can be down to matters like loose skin.

I have enough difficulty with having fully clothed photos taken.

I couldn't agree with you more Omega.

I'm a bit shy when it comes to pictures and the internet - well pictures in general actually. So personally, I would blank my face and only show what's relevant.

Also ppl steal pictures and pose as you on maybe dating forums in your own town, your photos can be used in explicit sites, and I am not talking about near nudes, fully clothed.

I blacked out my befores because I am still chubby in the face and my mouth was open and made me look even worse. So it's a little vanity. Yeah, I look bad in general but I'm here sharing the gut so at least let me have the little pride of keeping my face hid. (for now)
