Phosphagen HP

Phosphagen HP, High Preformance Creatine

I got this 4 lb tub of creatine today for free from my friend at GNC, its normally 44$.

(1 serving)

Calories 140
(from fat) 0
Total Carbs 34g
sugars 33g
protein 0
phosphorus 200mg
magnesium (as magnesium phosphate) 60mg
sodium (as disodium phosphate) 95mg
Potassium (as potassium phosphate) 80mg
Creatine Monohydrate 5.25g
Taurine 1g

The creatine I take now is just the monohydrate. Just wondering if I could use the carbs to absorb the creatine? It would last me forever if it is a decent product, no loss too me if it is not.

Is that the old EAS phosphagen?

If so, yea thats a good product however I prefer Creatine Ethyl Ester over Monohydrate. Less bloat for me.

Yes, those carbs in it will help transport the creatine to your muscles.

It says EAS on the tub, purple tub.

Also I was looking at the instructions...

mix 1 scoop w/ cold water or juice (ok)

Drink 4 to 5 servings for 5 days, then maintain 1 to 2 servings. (wow)

Should I just stick with my 1 scoop a day after workout?

Yup, thats the one.

I'd take it, especially if it was free. There is absolutly no need to consume that much though. If 1 serving = 5g of creatine, then that will be all you need to consume. Just mix it in with your pwo shake. Remeber to count those carbs towards your intake.

If you stuck a scoop of protein in a serving of that stuff, it'd make a pretty good during/post-workout drink. Try it and see how it tastes? ^_^

It's fruit punch, I'm kind of scared to throw it in my vanilla, chocolate mint, or strawberry protein lol, so I think I'll mix it in with my unflavored protein and try it out. I have no idea what creatine drinks taste like because I'm used to unflavored creatine.

Anyway, I'll have a few combinations to try it out with. If worst comes to worst I can just drink them one after the other.

You can also choose to start sipping it halfway through your workout, mixed with water, then consume your whey/simple carb shake after your workout.

Yup. Also, a lot of people seem to enjoy the vanilla protein + fruit-flavored/juice carb drink. Sounds gross to me, but hey, it might work.

Unflavored whey + anything makes me want to vomit..but it's your taste buds. :p

Damn, that phosphagen brings me back to when I first started working out.

That's some old school stuff right there.

My workouts are usually 20-30 min of weights followed by 45 min of cardio. Can I still mix it in with that type of workout? Like after weights can I start sipping on it while I'm running?

Just finished my morning workout, and the stuff tastes really good. Like a watered down red gatorade. Mixes easy, my old stuff always had creatine on the bottom on my bottle and all over the sides. Why cant portein taste this good

Because whey by itself tastes like rotten zombie breast milk? I've found the best a protein powder can hope to be is slightly pleasant. And that's an amazing accomplishment.

As for the workout drink, sure..but why so much cardio and so little weight training? I don't think most experts would prescribe that for anyone. Why not 45 mins of weights, full body, 2-3 days/week and cardio 2-3 separate days a week? Time/access issues?

I do a FBW every other day, and 45min cardio everyday. Main reason, I like to run, makes me feel good the rest of the day.

My FBW takes me only 30 min or so, my home gym I only have a boflex. When I do go to the gym I usually do alot more lifting. I cant go to the gym in the morning ther than weekends. Usually busy durring late in the day.
