Pet Scorpion

Im not even sure where i should be looking to buy one of these pets...but does anybody know anything about them....Ive been looking on the net and found some good info..but i would prefer someone who has first hand experience with them to tell me anything about them.

I worked at a pet shop for 2 years, and they sold scorpions, ask away and illl do my best to answer :D

Why the f*($ would you want a pet scorpion? oO'

Sorry for my language, but this is a first. I thought the scorpions never sold as pets, but rather as food for some other messed up animal.

XD

Lol, nope, people down in Aus like scorpions as pets. You feed 'em live crickets ;)

Some even like bush cockroaches o_O I hate cockroaches >_< Oh and bird eating spiders!!!!

I just need to know things like..what they cost?
what things they need in there tank?
If they need to be set in certain temps?
i read on the net that you should spray there tank with water to keep them moist or some crap..is that true?

They Cost around $60...thats for the scorpion only. But thats only as much as they sold at my shop, could be a little more or less especially seeing as though ur in QLD and im in NSW.

In a tank they usually dont need that much, some sand, a rock to hide under, some nice decorations?

As far as i know they dont need to be kept in certain temps, but make sure they get some sunlight, u know being scorpions and all. But ask the person at the shop about that because im not entirely sure.

Yeh, u gotta spray the tank every now and again because in the wild they live under things so they get some moisture from there. But especially if you have one of those black ones, they need the most moisture in their tank.

Hope ive helped :D

lol what do you mean since when? At the pet shop i was working at we sold bush cockroaches, bird eating spiders (mind you they never grew big enough to eat a bird, they were fed crickets :p ) and scorpions.

And if you are saying since when to ppl in Aus liking scorpions as pets, i was just assuming that because we had pretty darn good sales for scorpions and the spiders.

Well this is news to me coz i've never known a person that has a pet scorpian. The closest i've come is finding a couple in my pool
