PESKA - A Daily Log

Lack of activity destroys the good condition of every human being, while movement and methodical physical exercise save it and preserve it. ~Plato

Ah, such amazing words to live by.

Hello everyone. My name is Aaron, and I have finally listened to the tiny little voices in my head to track my fitness/diet progress and have complete strangers judge me on my numbers. A little background on little young me; I'm sixteen years old, currently weighing in at around 145lbs (last time I checked). My fitness levels over the past few months? "UNORGANIZED". Although I did workout everyday, I never really had a set list of things to do, other than a little packet I recieved for conditioning over the summer for soccer. Thus, this little log was born.

These logs will be based around three things; fitness, diet, and basically random things I did in the day. As weird as it sounds, especially for a sixteen year old kid, I want to see what I'm eating, how much exercise I'm getting, and if I am moving down the path of a "lazy fitness guy" (I know alot of this type of people).

As you read, and do enjoy yourself by the way, please please please add insight, give me tips, bash what I am doing (if you're into that). I want help to achieve what I want to achieve. All of it is greatly appreciated.

*PLEASE NOTE: AS OF TODAY, MAY 30 2010, I HAVE NOT JOINED A GYM YET. KEEP THAT IN MIND AS YOU SKIM THIS OVER UNTIL MY PARENTS FINALLY BITE THE BULLET AND HAVE US JOIN A LOCAL YMCA. THANK YOU*

Thanks! Have fun!

Aaron

Sunday, May 30 2010.

Is'nt it amazing that I happen to start a fitness log on a rest day? It's true, I hate Sundays with a passion. Not only do I normally find myself sitting around doing nothing, I rarely find myself doing any physical activity in the entire day. Apart from organizing papers to study for my upcoming finals, and cleaning my room up a bit, I really did nothing at all besides goof around on the computer, watch tv, or play Xbox. Least summer is right around the corner (school ends Tuesday!!), then I can get a job, start going to the YMCA when my family joins it, and go to soccer clinics held by my school every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday of the summer (soo excited for that).

Fitness
It was a rest day for me today, and nothing going on outside to work on, so I just sat back and chilled inside. I think it is well deserved, as I worked pretty hard over the week.

Diet
Breakfast: Bowl of MultiGrain Cheerios, Banana

Lunch: Wrap (sliced up a turkey burger patty, chopped up tomatos, added spinich and brown mustard), Bowl of salad with Italian dressing (light of course), and because I was a bit hungry, had two caramel rice cakes.

Dinner: Salmon, Salad with Italian dressing, Zuccini

Snacks: Had a few handfuls of carrots throughout the day.

Drink: WATER (filled up a plastic water bottle around three times and finished it all .. definatly got my eight glasses in)

Happy Memorial Day! To honor our veterans, I was to take part in a parade as part of the marching band (yes, I play trumpet in band .. don't judge). Much to my enjoyment, it was rained out. So, thanks to that, I was able to honor our veterans my way, by doing one of their workouts. Saw a movie (no popcorn for me), and that's about all I did.

I did a workout with a USMC brand name to it. I found it on the internet some time ago, and I did not save the link (sorry). Very nice worktout :D

Had one of those lazy days today .. spent alot of time infront of my computer looking up new music for the ol' MP3 player. Good news is, school ends tomarrow after finals. Really excited for that! I didn't do too much in regards to fitness, just a little interval run of about 20 minutes.

Fitness
Ran a tough, 20min interval run. Felt real good afterwards.

Diet
Breakfast: Mixed remaining bran flakes with remaining MultiGrain Cheerios. Attempted to have some oatmeal, but the cinnamon I added was bad, so I only had like half of the bowl.

Lunch: Chicken wrap with spinich, and Italian dressing. Salad. Two bowls of watermelon (love that stuff). A little bit of chicken salad.

Dinner: Big salad with chicken, spinish, vegetables, and cottage cheese. Had a rasberry and lime mix of sherbert for desert.

Schooooooools out for summer! Had my final day of testing today, and spent the next few hours out and about with some buds. It was also a gorge day for me, going to CiCi's and getting candy .. hey, it's the first day of summer; time to celebrate!

Fitness
I did a weight workout with my single weight, switching from 25reps of curls for my left arm, 25reps of curls for my right arm, 25reps of weighted squats, and 25reps of tricep extensions. I did 4 sets of these.

Diet
Breakfast: Oatmeal, a small bowl of Fruit Loops.

Lunch: Five slices of CiCi's Pizza (2 Mac N Cheese, 2 Spinich Alfredo, and 1 BBQ. I looked online and found that came out to be about 700-something calories and about 18 or 19g of fat). Two servings of salad.

Dinner
Small portion of pasta with chicken, beans, and veggies. Salad.

Snacks
Had 15 Starburst candies on the walk home from CiCi's .. hey, it's the first day of summer .. celebrate! LIVE!

Hi and welcome.

You may not want to spend so much time on the isolated movements (curls and tri extension). You may be better served focusing on compound movements. Pull-ups will get your back AND bis. Pushups will get your chest AND tris. Squats are great. You can do more this way in less time.

With a little research you can get variations of push-ups, pull-ups and squats that will keep you busy and hit your muscles differently each time.

If you want to up your muscle mass try eating one to two times worth of protein grams equalvilant to your body weight. 145-290 grams. Looks like you are eating well though.

For the movies I like to eat a protein bar as my treat so I don’t feel left out.
