Well, I am fifteen years old. I wrestle, play football, lift, and run. But, I have a big problem with losing my fat. I'm not extremely chubby or anything, but there is some have some fat to lose. But, with all the things I do, I can't lose the fat. My diet isnt bad, and I run alot. I thought if you ran and ate a pretty healthy diet, you would be cut and defined, but thats not the case here. WHAT CAN I DO!?!??!?!?!

how much do you run? if you eat healthy and run a lot, you will lose weight ... but the "cut & defined" will come from doing high-repitition workouts ... once u lose the weight, you needs something underneath to show.

I have everything underneath, its just that im a bit chubby. I run all the time, and wrestling is a very cardioactive sport. I eat healthy, lots of carbs and protein and such. I also started with a low sugar diet. BUT I STILL WONT LOSE THE FAT!

Maybe I'm WAY off here, but i'm not sure, so i'm going with my gut and asking you these questions....(now i know this is rude) but how much do you weigh?? Do you think you are really 'fat'?? I know ALOT of teenagers are unsatified with their physical appearance although they really aren't 'fat' and they really don't need to loose weight. A big thanks goes out to the media for this problem! Maybe you shouldn't work so hard on your weight, your so young. Maybe you should work on your self esteem?? Forgive me if I'm wrong, I would really like it if you would truly put some thought into my questions.

i know you say that you are very active, so in theory, you should burn off all the carbs, but it's possible that you aren't. Try a modified Atkins style diet and reduce your carb intake.

Its most likely that the fat you have is "puppyfat" due to your age. I'm 20 years old and when I turned thirteen i quite a bit of weight and no matter what I did I couldn't shift it. When I was 16, it gradually disappeared and I was very slim (hell I was hot!) and I could eat anything I wanted without getting bigger. Unfortunately lack of exercise and fried food caught up with me this year, and here I am trying to get rid of it again! A fifteen year old should not diet. As your body is still growing you need to be eating unsaturated fats and dairy foods.

Lately I have been thinking about my sugar intake. Does sugar have anything to do with your fat? Well, I think it might. But on another note, I do think I am a bit chubby, and no I don't need to lose weight. But, I want to. Having 12% isn't bad for you, and it certainly isnt good. So 7% would be good for me to have right now.

The only news I heard about atkins diet was bad news. Plus, having no bread or rice is a travesty! It just wouldn't work, atleast for me. By the way, I'm only 5'2" and weigh 131 pounds.

I don't like Atkins, the lack of carbs can irritate any active or dormant mental disorder, you need them balance the chemicals in your brain. The secret is with good carbs and bad carbs. Eg. white bread = bad, grainy bread= good. white long grain rice = bad, basmati rice =good. Potatoes = bad, sweet potatoes= good.
The reason starchy carbs are bad, is because they give your blood sugar levels a spike, fill you up but within an hour your hungry again. Non starchy, fibre-rich carbs are good because they slowly increase your blood sugar levels, leaving you feeling full for longer and give you more long lasting energy so you don't feel like you need food to keep you going. Low GI diets are based around this fact and also prevent diabeties as your blood sugar remains at a constant stable level instead of constant spiking and dipping.

try not having any more than 15 grams of carbs in any of your meals, except within an hour or two of your workout. so basically eat all your carbs around your workouts. And try not to have any more than 40-50 grams of fat daily.
