Performance Training

Hey guys, new to the forum, but I'll get straight to the point.

-I'm 94kg, 185cm and roughly 12%BF
-I'd say 35-40% of my potential (i'm under average fitness compared to the rest of the team, but on the field i can match it with anyone - which surprised me as im new to the professional club)
-I've lost 4kg over the past 2 weeks (havnt been training - end of season)I've been eating decently, so I dont know what happened.
-Lots of muscle in legs and i'm big boned (not fat)

I'm looking for a big rugby season next year and I have 6 months to train for it, I'm looking to get to roughly 5-6%bf, but i'm more concerned with achieving a level of fitness for representative level.

I want everything, but if i had to choose 2 things to stand out, they'd be explosive strength, explosive start (sprint) and max speed.

I've modified my eating habits to 5 meals over the past 2 weeks, and begun doing a 3 day cycle chest-back-legs (6 days a week)and 4 days cardio (2 days, 1 day break, then 2 days again, then weekend off)

Weight sessions are:
- core body 8,6,6,4
- other 12x3
Cardio is 30 minutes of running at a fast, constant pace, so that im struggling with the last 10 minutes.

Basically, I want to get your thoughts on the matter, any modifications that I can make, should i be doing pool sessions, beach sessions, sand running, stairs, I don't really know.

I've got 5 months to reach my goals, and i'm not going to do the binge eating on the christmas period, so we don't need to take that into account. I'm a light to non drinker as well.

Any other information, just ask.

One thing sticks out is your choice of cardio during max strength and power training. HIIT would be much more beneficial at this time. Progress later into endurance training

Also, if you seek power there is no such thing as back day, chest day.....whatever. Stick with powerful movements. Everyday should be full body.

i.e.
Day1
5@3 full cleans
2@50 yard farmer walks
2@15 burpees
ladder drill

Day2
5@5 Jumping Squats
1@5 DB Snatch
5@3 clapping chinups
10@2 Depth jumps
sprint drill 40yards

"more bang for your buck"
