He meant "Permanence" but in any case the only way to do that is to lift and stay conditioned. There's no such thing as a guy who got buff in his 20's, stopped lifting, and is able to perform at the same level in his 40's or 50's. Use it or lose it.
Before you look at supplements, you have to look at your diet and lifestyle first and improve those. Supplements are just that, they're to support the good lifestyle you have in place.
What does your diet look like? How much sleep are you getting and what is your current lifting routine?
Also what do you want to gain? Strength? Hypertrophy?
