pain in specific part of both legs after running walking

I first started getting these earlier this year from speed walking to class at college (about 5 minute walk). Its an sharp pain in a concentrated area that i feel when i step down. The pain goes away completely after rest. I used to walk just as fast but even longer a year ago but back then i was a bit more active.
And now im working out again and just did my first big run and had the pain again. I also just noticed a very slight buldge on both my legs where it hurts.

anyone have an idea of what this is or better yet what i can do to prevent it?

heres a pic of where it hurts:

i used to get these too when i was in college... i would wake up late for class, then fast walk/jog/run to class and i would have the pain in that specific area, especially on cold days. not sure if it will apply to you but i just stretched a bit before hand and it would help immensely.
