Hi all... this is my first post to these forums, I found a link from google to a fabulous p90x post, but wanted to ask a couple additional questions. I'm 16 y.o. female, was very in shape running throughout the summer and fall before encountering a sciatic nerve injury... could barely walk for a while, let alone run. I took a rest for about 4 weeks and neglected to keep in shape in other ways... about 3 weeks ago I started running again and was pleased to find that I wasn't completely out of shape at least in the aspect of endurance, lost a lot of strength though. So now I've been running regularly, however the snow is starting to fall and I don't have a gym membership. Any recommendations for when the footing gets rough? What about yactrax, do they work well? I work out at my school twice a week, so I have that, but would like more running come winter, as I'm training for a half marathon. Which brings me to p90x:
I was thinking of trying p90x on the days that I don't run, or in addition. However, I don't have any fitness equipment at home - are there any suitable substitutes I can use, that are common household items? I'm willing to buy some things, but I don't want to spend a ton of money. What I've picked up on is that a pull-up bar, some weights, and a resistance band are important. How much do these usually run, and where can I get them (cheapest!)? Thanks so much.
