P90 Workout

Hey everyone,

I have heard lots of glowing reviews and have seen youtube videos on people doing P90x. They have done very well in transforming their bodies. This workout is said to be very brutal.

I'm curious to know if anyone on this site has been doing P90x and how effective was this to you?

The success lies in the concept of muscle confusion (meaning doing many different exercises, never having a routine).

Steve, what's your thought on this P90x workout? I'm sure you have heard of it.

Thanks!

Mike

P90X is great if you do it, but I would recommend you build up to a point before starting that program as its quite intense.

P90X Options

P90X is great....I just passed day 50. It was rough for the first couple of weeks, but my body did adopt and so far I've lost 14lbs and 6%BF, I'm stronger, more flexible, and more energetic than I have been in years.

If P90X is still intimidating to you, there are options. Beachbody, which is the company that offers P90X also offers other programs.

Power 90 is the original program tha P90X(extreme) is based on. The workouts are a bit shorter and are a good starting point. You could start with Power 90 and then go to P90X.

I'm too new to this site to post URLs, but if you e-mail me at the address below I'll send you a link to my Day 1 and Day 43 pics, and more information about the programs.

I love P90X so much and have developed so much respect for Beachbody that I recently became an Independent Beachbody Coach, so I'd be happy to answer any questions you have about the program.

What exactly does a beachbody coach entail, if you don't mind me asking?

Do you make money doing it?

Do you have to have any sort of qualifications?

Thanks.

Well, if you go to the BeachbodyCoach.com website, you can get all the info you want.

(Or just send in 3 payments of $39.95 and they'll get you started today.)

Hope JerryMac doesn't mind me jumping is, but from looking at their COACH POLICIES and PROCEDURES/COACH COMPENSATION PLAN I think I can answer most of your questions.

Regarding what a a Beachbody Coach does...

Once a Coach Application and Agreement has been accepted by Beachbody,:
> Sell Beachbody products and services
> Participate in the Beachbody Coach Compensation Plan
(receive bonuses and commissions, if eligible)
>Sponsor other individuals as Customers or Coaches into the
Beachbody business and, thereby, build a marketing
organization and progress through the Beachbody Coach
Compensation Plan

Do you make money doing it?

Certainly!

It's an MLM operation. We all know how popular that form of business is.

Do you have to have any sort of qualifications?

Certainly! Again, from their COACH POLICIES and PROCEDURES/COACH COMPENSATION PLAN

2.1 Requirements to Become a Beachbody Coach
Each applicant must:
> Be of the age of majority in his or her state of residence
> Reside in the United States or U.S. Territories or country that
Beachbody has officially announced is open for business
> Have a valid Social Security or Federal Tax ID number
> Purchase a Coach Business Kit (optional in North Dakota);
and
> Submit a properly completed and executed online or physical
Coach Application (originals only—no copies) and Agreement
to Beachbody. Information submitted on the Application, either
online or physical copy, must be true, correct and current as of
the time of submittal, including, without limitation, the
applicant’s personal actual and correct current address, email
and credit card information. Any information considered
fraudulent will cause the Coach to be subject to disciplinary
action, including suspension or termination of their business.

I hope I have been able to answer some of your questions, Steve.

Thanks Doc.

So basically you don't need any real knowledge regarding health/fitness and you try your hardest to sell magic.

Roger.

Beachbody Coach

OK....so there seems to be a lot of Testosterone brewing on this site....lesson learned for me. So you understand a couple of things about me.

A. If I could post the link to my site, it is not the Beachbody Site, it is to one I created...and you would see that any commissions I would make off the sale of one of the programs is donated to the Disabled American Veterans Organization.

B. Yes, being a Beachbody Coach does not mean you are a certified personal trainer, I know because now I can say I have been both. A Beachbody Coach is someone who has had success with Beachbody products and can help someone select a program, utilize the tools provided with the program, and provide them support during their program.....with a wide range of experienced certified trainers available to answer questions.

C. I'm fortunate enough to not need income from the program, but I am interested in helping others that may be interested in the programs. If you already have a solid workout and nutrition program, than you probably don't need a Beachbody program, but if you struggle and need a solid structure, it is a good option. Go to the Beachbody forum and read the proof from the millions using the programs...I'm not here to convince anyone...I'm pretty sure I was responding to a P90X thread that was started by someone else.

If you need a program and Beachbody is of interest to you, then purchase it any way you want. If you want some assistance in maneuvering through the program once you have it....feel free to check in under me or just e-mail me with your questions...I don't make anything off that Steve.

What I mentioned to you in my PM to you was quite simplistic. We don't condone new members, any members for that matter, going around posting near identical messages in multiple threads soliciting emails from members.

It goes beyond making money. It's about this being a discussion forum. An open one at that, in so that all members can benefit from unbiased discussion.

That is all.

P90x Workout

Steve,

Understood....and thanks. As you have said, there is nothing magical about P90x. For those who have solid workout and nutrition plans, it probably won't help. For those looking for a complete package with options, and the ability to observe others performing the exercises....I believe it is a good option.

I woul post my updated pics here, but fear I shouldn't as I just posted them on another thread.

Jerry

Which is fine. If you 'love' the plan, great. If you want to discuss it with people, great. Simply discuss it on the forum. Don't solicit emails. And no, don't post your pictures in multiple threads.

I aquired the P90X series and plan to try it out... If I don't enjoy them, at least I didn't pay for them.

They seem as if they would be pretty awesome.

Amber....that's great news. Good Luck....if you have any questions that I might be able to help with, post them out here and I'll answer what I can. I can't wait until you achieve results....so I'm not the only one posting positive things about the program out here. Jerry

I purchased a copy of the set from somebody who bought it and only used it once..

They didn't like it...but to be fair IMHO it was more motivation than anything..

Anyway...I watched it...but there's no way I would could substitute my weightlifting routine for what they do on there...just not for me..

Now...some of the cardio type workouts on there like the plyometrics were good..

I run quite a bit...and do leg work weightlifting (squats, deadlift, lunges) and they still were a good challenge.
