just buy one of those outdoor extention cords with a fuse thing.

Alternativly just do what these guys do ...

Take 4 men, a lot beer, a hot day, a wading pool and the need to cook some dinner on a BBQ.

First, fill the wading pool [drink a beer] . Then put a tall table in the middle to hold the beer for you [drink another beer] . So far, so good.

Now you're hungry [drink another beer] . A solution is for someone to get out [drink another beer] and grill some meat.

But wait, why not put the electric BBQ on the table [drink another beer] in the middle of the pool - then no-one has to get out. Cool.

But, we need electricity.

Bugger.

[drink another beer]

Wait, we can run a cord to the out [drink another beer] to it. But ..... ::sigh:: ...... it's too short.

Ah, we'll add a powerboard with long cord. Great.

[drink another beer]

But, the powerboard will sink and then we'll all get electroplated.

Bummer. [drink another beer]

Ah-Ha!! Wedge a floating sandal in each end of the board to keep it floating!!

[drink another beer]

Cool ...... now as long as there are no big waves we're right ........

Check out craigslist.com for your area - a lot of people will post their services there...

and I'm drawing a blank on the name and too lazy to google it -but there's a website that goes by some woman's name I think, that has reviews of tons of independent contractors and the experiences people have had with them

the name will come to me eventually...

I'd get a minimum of three bids for the job, ask for references from the people, don't settle for the lowest bid and don't pay in full until job is completed.

Also look at zoning for your town - some towns require a fence around a pool, some places require additional insurance because of the pool (that'd be a wsie thing anyhow - because you never know...) and some places don't allow above ground pools at all...

Ty will check out craigs list lol I check that site for everything.I did some homework and have to have a fence of 4ft or taller I have a 6ft privacy fence, you need a permit and have to have the whole electric thing inspected.
TY for the link I am checking it out,Tammy

You'll need the outlet that feeds the pool to be protected by a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFI). You can tell these because they'll usually have a black and a red little button on them. They will shut off the power at the outlet if they sense a short to ground, and hopefully keep you form electrocuting yourself. About the code, not only will many municipalities require a fence, some will also require an alarm on all doors leading out to the pool from the residence. If this is the code in your area, the method of silencing the alarm will typically be required to be located out of reach of small children. Also check your insurance to make sure you're covered or that they'll not raise your rates through the roof.

if you don't have it already - you also might want to consider getting CPR certification... as a just in case.. it might help with keeping insurance rates down as well...
