Optimum Nutrition Pro Complex Gainer

Is this a good gainer for a bulking phase. My diet is good with a good mix and this would be a easy add for the bulking phase then a easy reduction for the cutting phase.

Looks pretty decent except that it only has 14 servings per container! That means at once per day, it will last only two weeks. Check out this site also

i'm not big on weight gainers cuz they are just so pricey for what you get...added sugars in your shake.

i'd stick to ON pro complex protein, not the gainer, and then just eat more calories in whole foods.

Have been working out since the first of the year. Trying to decide if bulking is right for me. It is a hard choice considering I just spent a year trying to lose weight.

The cardio and the Bowflex have done a great job. I run 2.5 mile in 20 minutes 3 times a week. My arms have grown 1.5” to 13” and my chest is at 40. The goal when I first started was to tone up the flabby skin. Most of that is gone, a bit remains around my belt buckle. The question now is continuing cutting, until the last two abs show. Or, should I go into a bulk phase and gain muscle. Can you gain muscle without bulking to the point that I read about here? Or is it an all or nothing proposition. I’m not looking forward to gaining all that weight back. The big question is What's next???

Thanks for your replies

huge congrats on the weight loss. 11% is a respectable bodyfat level IMO. I would think that a bulking phase might be in order.
if you do a clean bulk and don't go overboard on the calories, you can indeed gain lean muscle mass with very little fat gained. you can go sloppy on a bulk and gain fat at an equal rate as lean mass too. similarly you can go on a cutting diet so harsh that you lose lean muscle mass rapidly.

a clean bulk means eating the same foods you've been eating to lose fat, and simply eating a little more of it, especially protein and complex carbs, so you have around 500 extra calories per day to use to build lean mass.

Thanks Malkore and Tony for your replies. I have attached a photo to help.... please be nice.

looks good to me man. if you want more muscle, you're plenty slim right now to go to a clean bulking routine. try it for 8 weeks and see what your results are.

Clean Bulk... The same foods that I'm eating now just more?? I started to with an addition of eggs in the morning, cottage cheese in the afternoon and tuna or a peanutbutter sandwich late afternoon. Is that the right direction and enough of an add?

You wanna try to add at least 500 calories to your current diet.
