Only 16 days left

I've suddenly realized that my summer is almost over. We have to be back at the school for meetings and whatnot on Aug 16th ready for the kids to return a week later.

Gosh...3 months spent sleeping in, eating whenever I wanted, sitting all day in my boxers, doing what I want when I wanted...it'll be so nice to return to work.

Wait! No it won't.

I've spent a good deal of my summer sitting in a hyper-chlorinated pool teaching kids how to swim...

I'm going to be more than glad to get back to school.

geesh...another year of learning stuff i very likely wont use again in life(like i'l remember it anyway).

the worst part is getting up at 6 and having to spend a huge majority of the day at, and preparing for school. i hate today's educational system.

High school is about having fun, getting drunk, and getting girls pregnant.

Just kidding, it's true that you will probably not have the need to retain the material that they teach you, but it is important to learn how you learn and how to be resourceful.

Other than that, high school is for having fun.

As a Dad, no wonder others can see their own reflection on my head.....

Summer break is usually 2-3 months.

Hahahha...Chillen, very true. I can't say that I made my parents worry about that stuff until my senior year...I threw a kegger at my house :)

I think Dr. Suess is going to sue you.

Im confused. How many weeks do you guys get off over the christmas period?

Teachers were excused on the 1st of June. We're having to come back on the 16th of August. We should've been out of school a week earlier, but we had some freak snow storm that canceled classes for a week. Essentially we get 11 weeks off if everything goes right.

Geez...now I'm going to have to actually work for my pay check. I love getting paid to do nothing. :)

Since my school is on the semester system, we are off by early December and don't have to return and register for the second semester until late January or so. So a little less than a month.

I'm actually excited to start school again and get back to work. It's going to suck though because I'm taking a ton of classes and am fully booked these next two semesters, but it's only helping me get closer to my goal of transferring to university and moving on outta here.

gosh, my summer is almost over too. Im moving out, going to university to study English for a year. I better find a good gym. And funny, my main consern is that i will get there before school starts, and i cant get a student proof thing before school starts so i can get into the school gym.. Which i hear is pretty big and great.

Man, I had my best gains in the summer because you can get as much sleep as you wan't and eat every 2-3 hours. You had time to weight lift whenever. I have 3 summer assignments to do also. I'm only finished with one....

Football camp and practice starts the 6th.

Generally, summer break is around 2 1/2 months, the rest varies a bit depending on the school. For instance, last year the local school district here got
1 wk Thanksgiving
2 wks Christmas
1 wk Spring Break
a few days for Easter
(and Martin Luther King Jr day)

with about 2 1/2 months or so of summer break.

Somebody DELETE THIS THREAD -_- don't talk about going back to school damnit.

I got out May 31st and go back in the middle of September, like the 11th or 12th I think. :D I also don't have to make up snow days. :D

Honestly...my school is probably the best I've ever seen. We get out early, stay for summer late. Get all breaks, we're a powerhouse in like 30 sports, academicly we are one of the top, and we have so many clubs and things like that. Our school community is amazing, and we do alot of spiritual events that are wicked sick. The only downside-the ratio. 1,050 guys : 0 girls

I'd definitley send my kid here if I am still here when I get older.
