One Question :)

hi guys... just wondering.. im 15 and ive been weight training for almost a year now.. i use protein shakes.. someone told me that at my age it is a stupid idea using protein shakes as they arnt as beneficial.. i usually take them after a workout. but reasontly have decided im going to start taking them in mornings after aswell. does anything have any objections or agree with the fact it is pointless? or should i continue. please reply :)

Protein powder is a supplement. Its natural protein extracted from whey, which is made from milk.
Its better to get all your protein from good whole food. But this can be inconvenient. So we use the powder to SUPPLEMENT our diets.

there is nothing wrong with taking it. doesnt matter what age you are.

Protein supplementing is fine and often helps get the right amount of protein in. However most mainstream proteins have a lot of synthetic ingredients in them, hence why some of them actually taste good.
I have recently tried natural protein, no additives and no synthetics. I was very happy with the results and also did not have the same bloating and heaviness as i used to get from mainline supplements.
Well worth a shot

It's not really going to hurt you, but whole food is better overall, and at your age, you should probably just eat and not worry about it.

Imo, supplements aren't that important at your age. If you would like to gain muscle mass, you should focus on keeping the energy balance positive - eat more food (energy) than you use while being active. Check your weight regularly. If you're not gaining weight, you're not eating enough.

Do this while you also focus on the progression in the gym - lifting heavier weights.

Got problems gaining weight? My special tip: Take a couple of spoons with food oil every meal you eat. This way you can easily add another 1000 kcal each day.
