One big goal, or small ones along the way?

What theory do you subscribe to? Setting one large goal for yourself to attain (say, losing 100 pounds) or several small ones, and reassessing as you go (say, 10 pounds at a time)?

Personally I like to set small goals for myself. If I make it too big it can feel like it's taking too long, I can get frustrated and end up giving up.

You?

Small goals. Its easier to take smaller steps than it is to take larger leaps.

Both :)

I have a big, overarching goal, but it's broken up into smaller goals/meaningful weights for me, as well as non-scale goals as well.

:iagree: I have multiple small goals that will hopefully help me on the road to my ultimate goal.:auto:

My current small goal is to go a whole week with only one "cheat day" and excercising 3 times a wk. Doesn't sound like much, but I suck when it comes to restraint and pizza :drool5:

Ultimate goal is making better eating habits 2nd nature as well as being a healthy weight. :smash:

I have one big goal but milestones along the way..

smaller goals didn't work for me... because smaller goals were meanigless when you have a large amount to lose... ie what's 20 pounds when you have 220lbs to lose - not a lot according to my brain..

But a person has to do what works for them...

one big goal
