One A Day Vitamins

I have tried a number of different vitamins and I just recently purchased a supply of the brand name (Bayer) One A Day for men vitamins. I just finished a bottle of generic One A Day (Life Brand from Shoppers Drug Mart) and I have to say I was not really pleased with them...

Prior to these I used the GNC Mega Man vitamins and I found that I felt better and did not get sick (cold/sinus cold) which I have been prone to over the years... The Mega Man seem to contain a lot more vitamins and minerals than the One A Day so maybe there are some ingredients in there that help the immune system better? My diet has not changed much and I am not planning any drastic changes in the future, I would say that my diet is probably better than the average persons, but certainly not perfect...

Anyway, I am going to use the One A Day for the next while (2 bottles = 180 capsules) and see how I do, I guess I am just wondering if anyone has any information to share about these particular brands of vitamins and their likes/dislikes, etc...

Thanks!

I only use Source Naturals - Life Force.

VERY high bioavailability. 4 caps = 1 days serving, however I usually only take 2. vitamins should just be insurance you're getting all your micronutrients. your diet, ideally, should pretty much meet those needs...but in reality, few of us eat that perfectly, all the time :)

Those source of life pills are horrible. They give me horrible, painful gas. I wouldn't recommend those "blends" type of multi. I think it's to do with the Royal Jelly or some bee product in it that's getting to me. I think taking the store brand is fine, but I think food should be the primary source. Also, you might have felt better because of a placebo effect.

Thanks guys, yes I am very well aware that diet is the best way to get all you need and I do my best, but I have noticed over the last 4-5 years since I started taking a one a day regulalry I seem to get sick a lot less. I have always been prone to sinus colds in the winter and they usually last a long time. I have noticed that the severity and duration of my winter colds has decreased a lot since I began taking one a days so I have been "experimenting" with different brands. I really noticed that the effects of the generic brands were not nearly the same as the gnc mega man...

Anyway, thanks for recommending another brand, once I finish the supply I have I plan on trying them...

Dallen,

I did not say 'source of life'
I said "Source naturals, which is the brand name, and Life Force is the specific multi they put out.
Mine has no royal bee jelly. Just the standard vitamins and minerals found in any multi-vitamin, and a few common herbs like milk thistle (for liver functions) and grape seed extract.
