On My Way to the New Me

I finally decided to start up a diary. I've been coming to this site and reading all the inspirational posts for a while now, but never started a diary. I've been working out for about a year now. I run 35-40 minutes, five days a week and do about 10 minutes of weight training each day. I am 5'11 and weigh 173 pounds and I'm almost 35 years old. I have a pretty small frame, but I've got some rolls around the middle and some flab around the butt-area. I recently got engaged so I'm on a mission. I want to get down to 145 by the end of 2006 (28 pounds to lose). I'm pretty sure I can do it since I've got an exercise routine down, but I really need to start watching what I eat. I do fine during the week. I log everything into Fitday.com and keep it under 1800 calories, but the weekend is where I have trouble. I'm confident that I can change my weekend eating habits, and maybe get in some exercise as well.

HI! Glad to have you with us!! I Know you can loose 28 pds in 1 yr! I'm going to try to do it by june!

Sounds like your off to a good start! Good luck and let me know if you have any questions!!

First Question

Okay, first question. How do I get the weight tracker to show up on my post?? I copy and pasted the link, but I can't see the tracker, can you?

its because your supposed to put the bb code in your signature, not in your actual post. bbcode and html is turned off for diaries except for in sigs.

click on usercp at the top then on the left click on edit signature and drop your bbcode in your signature box and then save it.

good luck to you Christie!

I look forward to reading your posts.

Good for you for starting the diary/ I find that mine really keeps me in check.

Wow, 5'11" and you're going for 145? You must have a small frame. I'm only 5'3" and I"m working on 135. I have an extremely large frame for a woman though. I've always had the "muscular look" even when I'm soft! Broad shoulders, big legs! I also use fitday. I love being able to look back over the week and see my progress or lack thereof! I find it really helps me to put it all in perspective. It's really great if I decide I really want something not so healthy. I can use the fitday to see how to make adjustments to allow for it. I always recommend it to everyone!
