On my rest days...

On my days of rest between weights I tend to feel pretty stiff really - for example I managed to pull a muscle slightly in my back this morning very easily at breakfast, now its aching, and I imagine its going to take a day or 2 to return to normal! :(
Im only 23 FFS, feeling very unsupple.
However, on the days I do weights it frees me right up, and I feel great.
Thing is over the weekend, I have 2 days off, as I work out on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and its over the weekend that I feel like Im going downhill already!
Does this make any sense, I dont think Im working out hard enough.

do you do any cardio or anything like that on tuesday and thursday?

I get off work at 11:30pm and I get kinda hungry, I eat cereal, but the prolbem is that I eat like 2 or 3 bowls of fruit loops or something like that. Is that ok, or is that ruining my diet. In that case, what should I eat around that time because I get real hungry

stretching will help you out ALOT

I obviously stretch before and after wieghts, do you think I should stretch every morning before work?
(I walk a very quick mile to work, and a quick mile back, but other than that its an unhealthy desk job)

maybe you have a joint problem but dont know it (like infection, gout, an inflammatory joint condition or osteoarthritis)

When you rotate your joints (such as during exercise), they release synovial fluid which lubricates them and makes them feel looser and more supple. Tis is why you feel supple on your exercise days, and relatively stiff on your days off.

this may just be a relative thing - there is a big contrast between the days when you work out and the days when you dont, so you notice the difference a lot. because you have just started out you are comparing it to being 'stiff' all the time before. This may even out as you train more.

You may need some sort of supplement for your joints like glucosamine sulphate or omega 6 oils, but that is doubtfull.

If you feel very stiff and it is bothering you, check with your doctor. If it is a mild annoyance, just rotate your joints on your off days to loosen them off:

Start at the head and work down to the toes, rotating each joint clockwise and counter-clockwise until it feels loose.

thanks everyone.
There is another one- I have a 'clicky' elbow when I try to do my tricep exercise, maybe this is the same problem?
Basically when my elbow goes from being bent 90' to about 100' it clicks which is very offputting and uncomfortable.
I think I will try to stretch, rotate various joints more on my rest days.
Thanks again!
