Sport okay now another question - Golden Corral ?

Sport Fitness
Thanks for the replies on the Starbucks thread :)

And here's my next question:

for my birthday lunch I am going to Golden Corral-

now, last night I did alot of exercise so I could slip up a bit today, plus I will also be going to the gym after work as well today as my usual Thursday,

here is my FitDay link:

but go to yesterday night and you will see the exercises i think

TODAY I WILL HAVE BRUSSEL SPROUTS, ROASTED POTATOES AND CARROTS, AN EAR OF CORN, LIVER AND ONIONS, AND SQUASH AND ZUCCHINI.

THEN HAVE SOME FRESH FRUIT AND SOME SUGAR FREE CAKE OR SOMETHING.

SO DO YOU GUYS THINK THIS IS OKAY IF I MAKE SURE AND WORKOUT AFTER WORK AND GET RID OF ALL THE CALORIES??

I think its your birthday so, I think you should enjoy yourself, forget about the calories etc. and get back on track tomorrow :)

Agreed. And you cannot bank calories :)

Celebrate your birthday and have a great time. Tomorrow there is no guilt or shame. You simply continue on

okay so by not banking calories does that mean if I eat too many calories I CAN'T burn them off at the gym after work??

If it will make you feel better to work doubly hard tomorrow then, so be it. Most important thing is not to worry about today when all you should be doing is enjoying yourself.

Now go and have some fun already!! :D

Banking calories means "I won't eat now so I can eat more later." or "I'll eat what I want and then work twice as hard tomorrow." or "If I workout twice as much now then I can eat more for dinner."

Doesn't work that way. Food is meant as a fuel source to get us through the day. It affects our glucose levels and insulin levels. Not eating here or eating too much there can only be "fixed" by getting back to a healthy and regular and consisten fitness routine and menu.

When you go to the gym after work... you do not burn off lunch calories. You just burn off calories. Hope that makes sense.

Yes Lynn, that kind of stuff is obvious to trainers and dieticians...but often the 'average Joe/Jane' doesn't realize a lot of their concepts about calories and nutrition are myths or way off base.

I agree, Malkore. That's why I try to take time from my day and post here regularly. Even if there are disagreements... the general concensus here is positive and healthy. I have no worries about explaining my thoughts when someone asks for clarification. :D
