Ok to mix with protein?

For breakfast I have been drinking a protein shake (elite whey isolate 1.5 fat, 2.5 carbs, 23 prot) and have been adding to it some extra glutamine. I also take a multi vitamin, calcium supplement, and fiber supplement. I have been spacing them out over a few hours every morning but that is getting tough to do. Is it ok to mix all together into one shake, or will I loose some potency. I'm a first year medical student and I am pretty sure it's better to take them seperate, but I would like some other opinions. Thanks.

They are turned off for all members, so answer is no. Sorry.

However it should be perfectly fine to take all your supplements together. I take all my vitamins and minerals in the morning.

Right, it's fine to do that. We had looked into this awhile back and could not find anything substantial to prove otherwise.

I know ON has 4g glutamine/scoop, but I heard only 5% is absorbed, maybe less, so just get ON whey and be done.

I'm aware that glutamine is just an amino acid and any good protein should have enough of it in it, however glutamine is essential to the myosin functions of the muscle, so I am going to keep my glutabolic stack going. So, if it is ok to mix all my other stuff into my morning shake something else donned on me. My calcium supplement says to take three pills once a day. Well, should I take all three at once, or should I take one three times a day? It may be better for absorption to take one, three times a day so the body doesn't just pass it. Any thoughts?

Supplemental glutamine is not effect for anything relating to the muscle. This has been proven time and time again. If you want to keep taking it that's up to you of course but what you posted is not true.

Now as for as something you have to take multiple servings of, that would be different and you are correct in that it would be better to take it over the course of the day.

Funny, I use pub med for lectures all the time. Great peer reviewed stuff. Even the other Doc's use it. So, I guess I have been wasting money. I'll finnish this batch and try a protein without adding glutemine and see where I end up. I am however going to continue to space out the multiple servings of calcium, fiber, and my multi. Thanks.

Glutamine does have some good use for it. It's great for the gut so those with digestive issues may find relief from it. Personally I found it to work better than those digestive enzyme deals.
