ok so if im eating

Uhh, welcome to the forum...

Well, that all depends on a number of variables. Age,sex, activity level, genetics, and so on.

Although, I'm not quite sure what you mean by "balance it out"?

What are you goals? Are you trying to gain/loose/maintain?

More information then what you inserted is going to be needed.

im trying to lose about 20 pounds and im eating 2000 calories daily. im female and i am 23 years old. with balance it out i mean isnt there a saying where "to lose weight you gotta burn more calories through exercise than you consume?"
im trying to work that out.

Correct, in order to loose weight you must expend calories more then you intake.

How much we need to eat to loose, gain, or maintain is dependent on the individual. So, as you can understand. There really is no blanket number for anyone. Meaning, one can not simply say if 2,000 calories is right for you without first "knowing" you.

Alright, how much do you weigh now? Along with what type of exercise are you doing or planning to do daily? Do you have a very active/intense lifestyle outside of the exercise?

I would suggest you go ahead and read the stickies. Plenty of good info for you there.
