Just to let you know, this is not from a book (as far as I know) and I"M not trying to sell anything This diet came from another forum I participate in (a travel forum) and seems to have great results.
However, there seems to be a couple of (potential) problems:
1. The weight loss is VERY rapid (5-15 pounds in a WEEK)
2. I haven't found anyone that's stayed on this diet or has kept the weight off
3. It's really boring.
I'll admit...I'm looking for a quick fix. I'm tired of beign fat, and trying to do it over the long term hasn't worked for me, so I'm giving this a go for a week. But that much weight coming off doesn't sound very good. What do you folks think?
Here's the diet:
Basic Fat-Burning Soup
1 bunch green onions
2 green peppers
1 large can of tomatoes
1 head of cabbage
1 pkg of onion soup mix
garlic and bay leaves if desired
Cut vegetables into bite-size pieces. Put onions, peppers and cabbage into large pot. Cover with water. Boil fast for 10 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer approx 30 mins. until vegetables are tender. Add tomatoes and juice. Bring to boil and add soup mix. Simmer 10 minutes.
This soup should be eaten every day. In fact you can eat as much as you want. Whenever you feel hungry just have some more. This soup will not add calories. This soup will flush impurites and toxins from your body. After a couple of days you will feel the difference.
One more thing about the soup: It's boring, but think of it as just a base. It can be jazzed up with any combination of spices you wish. Cloves and garam marsala work especially well for me.
Day 1
All fruits except bananas. Your first day will consist of all the fruits you want except bananas. Cantolopes and watermelons are lower in calories that most fruits. Eat only your soup and fruits the first day. For drinks - unsweetened tea, cranberry juice of water. Coffee black.
Day 2
All vegatables. Eat until you are stuffed with all the fresh raw or cooked vegetables of your choice. Try to eat leafy green vegetables and stay away from dry beans, peas and corn. Eat all the vegetables you want as well as your soup. At dinner time you may reward yourself with a baked potato and butter. Eat all the soup you want but no fruits.
Day 3
Mix of day one and day two. Eat all the soup, fruits and vegetables you want, but no baked potato.
If you have eaten for three days, as above, and have not cheated, you will find that you have lost 5 to 7 pounds.
Day 4
Bananas and skim milk. Eat as many as 8 bananas and drink as many glasses of skim milk you can on this day along with your soup. Bananas are high in calories and carbs and so is the milk, but on this particular day of your diet your body will need the potasium and the carbohydrates, protein and calcium to lessen your cravings for sweets.
Day 5
Beef and tomotoes. You may have 10 to 20 ounces of beef and a can or as many as 6 fresh tomotoes on this day. Try to drink 6-8 glasses of water this day to flush out the uric acid in your body. Eat your soup at least once today.
Day 6
Beef and veggies. Eat to your heart's content of beef and vegetables this day. You can even have 2 to 3 steaks if you wish with leafy green vegetables BUT NO BAKED POTATO. Eat your soup at least once today.
Day 7
Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juices and vegetables. Again stuff, stuff, stuff yourself. Be sure to eat your soup at least once today.
At the end of the 7th day, if you have not cheated, you will find that you have lost 10 to 17 pounds. If you have lost more that 15 pounds, stay off the diet for a couple of days before you resume it.
This 7 day eating plan may be as often as you like. As a matter of fact, if correctly followed, it will clean your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well-being as never before. After only a couple of days you will find that you have more energy, and feel better, and lighter than when you started.
Definate no-nos. No bread. No alcoholic beverages of any kind. No carbonated drinks - not even low calorie or "diet" drinks. Stick with water, tea, unsweetened fruit juices and skim milk (on the day it is allowed). Although you are allowed to have black coffee, you will probably find that you won't need the caffeine after the third day.
Taking prescribed medication is fine with this diet.
If you like you may substitute chicken or broiled fish on ONLY ONE of the meat days. NO FRIED FOOD AND NO SKIN ON THE CHICKEN.
