I am an avid runner, but I don't run races or run extrenly long distances. My main area of focus when it comes to fitness is I'm trying to gain muscle mass. I just run my 2.3 mile loop around the neighborhood to cut the fat and stay in shape.
Four days ago I ran my 2.3 hilly miles in my best time yet, just over 15 minutes. I was pleased to see how much time I have dropped since the last time I timed myself on the run.
Today I was not timing myself, but I figure it to have been over 25 minutes after adding the track times of the songs I listened to. The reason being, I was cramping the entire time, just above my left hip.
I suffer from allergies, but I was much clearer today then I was 4 days ago. That was another reason I was so pleased with my time. The temperature and humidity is comparable to that of 4 days ago. I am always aware of my pace and breathing, and those should have been almost identical to that of 4 days ago. However, today I cramped up really bad.
Any ideas to why today's run was so drastically different will be very helpful, because I am not happy that I struggled to finish my run today.
