i have oatmeal in my house and ive never really eaten cuz i never knew if it was really good for me butr if anyone has any ideas or comments about this subject let me know like is oatmeal good wen should i have it or wat thanx again ..... matt

i grind up 40 grams of oats in a coffee grinder to mix with 24 grams of milk/egg protein powder in 12 ounces of water each day ;)

To make rolled oats a tasty breakfast I simply add a scoop of protein powder. Banana cream Low-Carb GR...I mean...Metabolic Drive is my current favorite.

Berardi's article covers everything you would ever want to know about oats. If anyone has not spent time on his site reading everything he has to say then you are truly missing out. The complicated world of macronutrients, nutrient timing, and all things health-nutrition related is covered in terms anyone can understand.

I apologize for the thread hijack but I just can't say enough about man's knowledge on the subject. It's all free so newbies read read read. I promise you won't regret it.

I eat 'em every day

for breakfast - with vanilla protein powder and Udo's oil. Sometimes I add some banana or a sprinkling of All Bran. I use the quick cooking kind and it only takes a minute or so to make this in the microwave so I have no excuses for skipping my first meal.

doesnt oat also have quite alot of protein? i think the thing im using has 15g of protein per 100g. unless im mistaking oat for something else. its a grain thing right? suppose to be the healthiest grain out there?

Yeah Bryn, These Yanks just try confusing us the whole time.

The bigger the oats the better, Try scottish rolled oats.

Oats are cheap anyway so its worth getting the "taste the diffrence" , "tesco finest" or whatever its is where you shop.

i found some Strawberry Flavoured Oats....what do people think of these things..are they as nutritionaly benefitial as regualar rolled oats.

Read the packet.

Or was it covered in spiders!!!!!

covered in spiders and snakes and sharks...but i guess i could read it..but it was at a junk shop so i may have to go to the supermarket to find them...i think they were just passed there used by date or something that is why they were in the junk shop. Because they were a well respected aussie brand.

I was the same with bread.
Shop around, Some breads have 5grams of protien per slice. Dont sound much but if you think that you may have 4-6slices a day so thats 20-30g.

you'll notice that the better carboydrate sources have a higher protein and fiber count than the more processed stuff. sure, its not the same as protein from animal or dairy but it doesn show a good carb source ;)

yay my oatmeal was good this morning!! thanks tim! :)
