Sport Oatmeal with yogurt before bedtime?

Sport Fitness
Hi guys,

I'm 5'5,around 129,very decent meal plan and 3-4 times a week exercise plan.I'm just trying very hard to shed those stubborn few pounds, tone up till april.

Before going to bed,i eat a bowl of plain yogurt with oatmeal almost every night around 10.I just crave it so much i cant give it up,do you think its good or bad for my weight loss and metobolism??

As long as it is plain yogurt and real oatmeal, not the pre-processed junk in the little envelopes you should be fine. I couldn't believe the difference in sugar content between plain yogurt (0 grams per serving) versus strawberry 'flavored' yogurt (33 grams per serving) :angry2:

If you truly want to lose that last bit of fat, you should avoid carbs before bed. The yogurt and especially the oatmeal have more carbs than protein. A better choice would be a 1 or 2% cottage cheese (zero carbs and lots of protein, but high in sodium), or a protein shake if you find one you like, or eat a more earlier in the evening and don't have anything within a couple hours of bed. You don't say what your exercise routine is. You may want to do some strength training (or more strength training) to add a bit of muscle to offset the fat loss and stay at around the same weight, which should help with the toned look.

Edit: Cooter, her profile says she is female.

thanks for all the replies,i just have some back fat and need some toning overall,i live in istanbul and the yogurt we have here is sooooo much natural than the ones in u.s.,no sugar ,chemicals added whatsoever.lowfat cottage is a good alternative which ill try tonight.
i exercise 3 times a week,30 mins of cross trainer,30 mins of stasionary bike, some weights and strength trining of 1 hr,total 2 hrs.i just dont like junk food, ice cream etc. which is good,i try to eat mostly lean protein when im not training.
you guys think 164 cms to 58 kgs for a woman is too little?

IMHO if you are 5'5 129 lbs with lots of muscle tone and low body fat, that is awesome. If you are 5'5" 129 lbs and are 'soft' there may be some work to do.
