Sport Oatmeal Questions

Sport Fitness
Hi, I have a question about Oatmeal in general. I eat the 1 min. Quaker Oatmeal and for about a month I have heated up the water to a boil and then added the oats. Yesterday I put the oats and the water in and then heated it in the micorwave, and it seemed to give it a different consistancy (made it thicker, or expand more.) I would like to know what way is correct, or is it just a person's preference? Also, is eating 61.6g (220 calories) of oatmeal in the morning too much, or is there no such thing?

Thanks,
Brandan

well try to get the old fashioned oat meal not the quick type. Quick type is not good thats why nobody buys em and the grocery stores usually have a sale on em LOL. The way i cook em is that i add the oalmeal and milk and just cook em untill its thick. It tastes good with milk though. Hope this helps.

when its doen cooking you have to let it sit there for a good 5-10 mins for it so absorb the milk/water and to let it cool down :p

Also try making a porrige from barley flakes, rye flakes (or mix it all up). I also find oat bran porrdge very nice and fluffy
