Sport Oatmeal > Cornflakes?

Sport Fitness
Recently ive tried to stay away from carbs in the morning, not sure how good this is, but it helped lower my carb intake for the day. Just a question.. for breakfasts i was eating:

4 egg white
1 yolk

1 cup milk
1 cup cornflakes
mixed 1 scoop whey protein with milk for cereal.

This added up to around 400calories for my breakfast. Would having the eggs with a packet of quaker plain oatmeal be better then the cornflakes? Tonight i noticed i didnt eat enough during the day so i came home and had a packet with 1 scoop of protein powder mixed in. Never done it before, it was a little runny but it actually tasted really good. Would this be a better meal then the normal cornflakes? Right now i am trying to lose weight, im 5'6-5'7 and 180 (the scale just wont show me 170's lol) Anyways, thanks in advance for the help.

Use old fashioned oatmeal. You can add your own seasonings and it's less processed.

old fashioned oat meal? is the regular quaker brand different from old fashioned? what brands should i look for? and is it better then the cornflakes? also, is mixing it with the vanilla protein powder alright? It tasted pretty good and its not full of sugar. What else can i add to it (in moderation) and still be eating clean for weight loss?

It comes in a cylindar and says "Old-fashioned" on the label.

I use a generic brand, but quacker is good too.

Yes. Cornflakes are a lot of processed flour, not good.

Whey is fine and ups the protein content.

I boil mine up in milk and fruit.

To lower your carb intake for the day you'd be better off having lower carbs in the afternoon. Your body is more inclined to convert carbs in to energy when consumed in the morning and into fat when consumed in the evening.

You don't have to stay away from carbs in the morning. Try having some old fashioned oatmeal (not in the packets) or ezekiel bread.
