I just started college and i want to lose weight but it's a lot harder than i thought. I'm very physically active but i tend to undereat then overeat days later. please help me! late nights are also an issue because i boredom eat. do you have any advice/ tips? i really want to lose 15 pounds and the fact that i can't seem to break this plateau is making me really upset. Do you have any tips for setting up some weight loss goals during school? I really need to lose the weight, I'm so miserable!

are you in a dorm with a meal plan or in an apartment where yuo cook your own meals?
If you're in a dorm do you have a fridge that you can keep good for you snacks in?

Undereating is just as bad as overeating... you want to make sure that you're eating enough.. because that's what leads to binges later.

Have snacks that you can eat when you're bored or studying that won't set you back. Prepare your own 100 calorie packs with some snack foods that you like (ziplock snack size bags will be your best friend )

If you know ahead of time what dinner is (back when the dinosaurs walked the earth, we know what dinner was in college) plan your day around that.

being a college student, i'd imagine there's a fair bit of drinking and pizza eating going on... that's fine too- just do your best to keep within your calorie range..

use a site like or to track your calories

we have a fridge but i'm on a meal plan. thanks for the advice! for me snacking is difficult because I can't seem to stop once i start, so i really try not to, but inevitably... I do.

many many of us have that problem... easiest way around it is to force yourself into portions..,. and really there's no snack that's off limits - just when you're not hungry or snacky - divide up that bag of m&ms or cheezeits into portion control packs.. that way you can snack... without going crazy...
