Sport Not enough fat?

Sport Fitness
How much fat in your diet is not enough? I know it's an important part of the diet, focusing on poly and mono and not saturated fats. All of the information I can find talks about not getting too much, no more than 30% of your daily calories, but how little is not enough? I know too little fat can do terrible things to your skin, hair, immune system, but I can't seem to find the info that says eat at least this much but no more than the 30%.

If you eat lean meats then you get enough fat. I would add in some other heatlhy fat sources though. Nuts, flax seeds, olive oil, etc.

I've heard that under 20g per day is not good. But I have not seen any studies recently that talk about this. Fat is essential to have. Most people get enough of it though if they eat meat and a few nuts or olive oil.

Great question.
The lowest your percentage can go depends on your total calories. I eat 15% fat. However, my calories are very high, so I'm getting at least 50 grams a day.
Fat is essential, but it's easy to get enough, as Lynn mentioned. Personally I recommend having at least one serving of unsaturated fats per day. Something like flax oil or natural peanut butter. Very beneficial for our health.
